Bimbo loses his job at the bakery, reducing him to the status long suffered by Jimmy Curley and the rest of his mates: unemployment. Jimmy takes Bimbo to the local Barrytown boozer to drown his sorrows. Staggering out at closing time, Bimbo and Jimmy curse the absence of the Vietnamese chip van on which they were depending for dinner. The next morning, however, Bimbo is struck by the notion of using his redundancy money to buy a chip van and set up in business. He asks Jimmy to be his partner.
