Kavaleer Productions’ current project is a short animation entitled ‘Hassan Everywhere’ which explores the brief but passionate friendship of an Israeli writer, Dorit Rabinyan and a Palestinian artist, Hassan Hourani - both exiles during a freezing New York winter.
Kavaleer Productions is an animation production studio based in Dublin’s Digital Hub. Kavaleer Productions are the winners of two Digital Media Awards and have been previously nominated for an IFTA (in 2003 for ‘The Depository’) and a British Animation Award (in 2002 for ‘The Millner’). The company’s other credits ‘Garth & Bev’ and ‘Lifeboat Luke’
The 1 x 6 animation is being directed by Andrew Kavanagh and produced by Ciara Gillan. The project is being overseen by Andrew Kavanagh with the aid of Paul Shanahan and voicing the role of Dorit Rabinyan is a young Israeli actress called Keshet Zur.
A spokesperson at Kavaleer Productions tells IFTN that “The style of the narrative is inspired by the writer, Dorit Rabinyan, a deeply prosaic and visually evocative language that provides the voice of the story. The animation is in part adapted from the rich illustrative style of the artist, Hassan Hourani.”
