In The Land of Saints and Sinners has a large ensemble of Irish actors including Liam Neeson, Kerry Condon, Colm Meaney, and Jack Gleeson. The film is having its world premiere at the 80th Venice International Film Festival today, September 6th.
The official trailer for Robert Lorenz’s upcoming thriller In The Land of Saints and Sinners has been released. This is Lorenz and Neeson’s second collaboration following 2021’s The Marksman. Colm Meaney has described the film as “an Irish Avengers” for its ensemble of Irish actors.
The film follows a retired assassin (Liam Neeson) in a remote Irish village who gets drawn into a lethal game of cat-and-mouse with a trio of vengeful terrorists. The cast includes Meaney, Neeson, Ciarán Hinds, Kerry Condon, Jack Gleeson, Sarah Greene, Desmond Eastwood, Conor MacNeill, Seamus O’Hara, Valentine Olukoga and Mark O’Regan.
In The Land of Saints and Sinners was written by Mark McNally, having developed the script through Northern Ireland Screen’s New Writer Focus scheme. Shot on location in Donegal, the production filmed scenes in Ardara, Glencolmcille, Kilcar, and Killybegs.
Bonnie Timmerman, Philip Lee, Markus Barmettler, Kieran Corrigan, Geraldine Hughes and Terry Loane are producing. Robert Lorenz, James Demasi, Marc Jacobson, Marcel Gloor, Daniel Fluri, Adrian Grabe, Victor Hadida, Ehud Blieberg, Nicholas Bennett and Danny Dimbort serve as executive producers.
Bleiberg Entertainment are handling sales, and Netflix will be distributing the film in Ireland and the UK.
In The Land Of Saints and Sinners is yet to receive a theatrical release date in Ireland.
