Oscar nominated Irish film ‘Brooklyn’ will be released on Blu-ray, DVD and EST from February 26th, courtesy of Lionsgate Home Entertainment.
The release comes two days before the Academy Awards ceremony where the film is nominated for three Oscars including Best Film, Best Actress (Saoirse Ronan) and Best Adapted Screenplay (Nick Hornby).
The film, which is also nominated for six BAFTA Awards, was released to Irish, UK and US cinemas in November 2015 and has currently made over $33.5 million at the worldwide Box Office.
‘Brooklyn’, which tells the story of a young Irish immigrant torn between two countries and two men, was directed by John Crowley and was adapted by Nick Hornby from the novel by Colm Tóibín.
The film stars Saoirse Ronan, Domhnall Gleeson, Emory Cohen, Jim Broadbent and Julie Walters. It was produced by Finola Dwyer and Amanda Posey, with Alan Moloney as executive producer. Production companies were Parallel Films, Finola Dwyer Productions, Wildgaze Films and Item 7, with financing coming from the Irish Film Board, the BAI, RTÉ, BBC, Telefilm, SODEC and the BFI. It is distributed by Lionsgate in Ireland and the UK and Fox Searchlight in the United States.
