The Irish film industry is reporting a steady flow of sales deals for Irish titles across the globe. Features including ‘The Eclipse’, ‘Kisses’, ‘Perrier’s Bounty’ and ‘Triage’ have inked high profile distribution contracts in recent months.
‘The Eclipse’, directed by Conor Mc Pherson, has recently been picked up by Magnolia Pictures for US distribution. The film was also sold to Jump Street Films for distribution in New Zealand and Australia.
Two Irish films produced by Alan Moloney at Parallel Films, ‘Triage’ starring Colin Farrell, directed by Danis Tanovic and ‘Perrier’s Bounty’ starring Cillian Murphy, directed by Ian Fitzgibbon, are currently being sold by Hanway films for circulation in countries across the world including Japan, South America and Scandanavia.
James Flynn at Octagon Films has two films actively selling. Neil Jordan's ‘Ondine’ has sold to numerous territories to date with Paramount Vantage securing many deals in recent months including Germany and France. Also, ‘A Shine of Rainbows’, an official Irish/Canadian co-production directed by Vic Sarin, has sold to many territories including Benelux, Australia, Latin America and Korea.
Stephen Burke’s ‘Happy Ever Afters’, produced by Newgrange Pictures, is currently being represented by Films Distribution, having made numerous high profile sales at the recent Cannes Film Market including being bought by Hopscotch for distribution in Australia and New Zealand and Lucky Red for Italian distribution.
US distribution rights for Lance Daly's IFTA winning feature ‘Kisses’, produced by Fastnet Films, have been picked up by Oscilloscope, with Focus Features selling internationally and finally Fantastic Films’ horror pic ‘The Wake Wood’ has secured deals in the UK, Greece, Portugal and the Middle East.
