The Industry Trust is the film, TV and video industry’s consumer education body, promoting the value of copyright and creativity. Its consumer awareness programmes address the on-going challenge of film and TV copyright infringement by inspiring audiences to value great movie moments and choose to watch film, TV and video via legitimate sources. Industry funded, their work aims to engage audiences, providing extensive insight around audience attitudes and understanding of intellectual property.
In November 2013 Into Film UK and the Industry Trust for IP Awareness collaborated with a message aimed to inspire millions of young people to respect intellectual property. Thanks to the success of this campaign, The Industry Trust Ireland enlisted the services of SnackBox Productions to lend their expertise to give this message a new Irish voice Lovemovies.ie public awareness campaigns and educational workshops.
The piece they have launched, which is called ‘Vin Diesels Socks’, tells the story of two young boys - one watching illegal film content online and another questioning why his friend thinks that this film should not be paid for.
Alison Crinion, Communications Director with the Industry Trust for IP Awareness Ireland has said: “I am very grateful to Into Film and My Pockets for giving permission to localise this industry trust for Irish audiences. It is a very powerful message for young people told with humour and truth. This was also a chance to work with SnackBox Films who are great supporters of the work of the Industry Trust and of course Lovemovies.ie.”
Supported by the Industry Trust for IP Awareness, LoveMovies.ie is Ireland dedicated space to show some love to the audiences who support the film industry by choosing to watch, buy, download, stream or rent legitimate film Continued audience support means more cinema moments worth paying for.
