Sky have released first look images of Small Town, Big Story. The images feature Paddy Considine, Christina Hendricks, David Wilmot, Michelle Forbes, Peter McGann, and Evanne Kilgallon. The series is set to release later this year.
Christina Hendricks (Mad Men) and Paddy Considine (House of the Dragon) will star in Small Town, Big Story, a new comedy series created and directed by Chris O’Dowd (Moone Boy). The new Sky Original series from Playground and FilmNation Entertainment has wrapped filming. The series was shot on location in Ireland including locations such as County Wicklow and Boyle.
The six-part series is about the fictional town of Drumbán, a rural village of rattled misfits on the border of Ireland and another world, and what happens when a Hollywood production rolls into town and throws the spotlight on a secret that’s been kept hidden since the eve of the Millennium.
Christina Hendricks stars as Wendy Patterson, a television producer who returns to her hometown from LA with a Hollywood production in tow. Paddy Considine stars as Drumbán’s local doctor Seamus Proctor. Eileen Walsh (Catastrophe) stars as Catherine Proctor, Seamus’ wife and local schoolteacher. Leia Murphy (Fair City) and David Rawle (Moone Boy) star as siblings Joanne and Sonny Proctor. Patrick Martins (The Confessions of Frannie Langton) stars as Jules O’Brien, Evanne Kilgallon (Obituary) stars as Shelly McGoldrick, Andrew Bennett (An Cailín Ciúin) stars as Barry Battles, Ruth McCabe (Aisha) stars as Betty Battles, and David Wilmot (Station Eleven, The Alienist) stars as Keith McCurdle.
In the latest new look images, Michelle Forbes stars as Barbra the butcher, and Peter McGann is Matt Magee.
Small Town, Big Story was commissioned by Sky Studios for Sky. The comedy drama is a Playground/FilmNation Entertainment production in association with Sky Studios. Executive producers are Colin Callender and Scott Huff for Playground, Stefanie Berk and Milan Popelka for FilmNation Entertainment, and Alex Moody for Sky Studios. Christina Hendricks and Chris O’Dowd are executive producers, Liz Gill is series producer and Directors include Chris O’Dowd, Catherine Morshead as well as Mike Ahern and Enda Loughman. NBCUniversal Global Distribution is handling international sales of the series on behalf of Sky Studios.
Small Town, Big Story is expected to debut on Sky and streaming service NOW in Ireland and the UK later this year.
