Film & Animation to Feature at the UFAD

TV3 Announces its Preferred Soap Partners
03 Mar 2014 | Irish company Element Pictures and UK-based Company Pictures have been confirmed as TV3’s preferred partners for a new soap which will arrive in 2015. The soap is to be a multi-million euro investment, funded from a number of sources including TV3, Element and section 481, and will create between 80 and 120 new jobs in Ireland.

Observe Hosts the 6 Nations in Rome
03 Mar 2014 | Observe Outside Broadcasting has been appointed host broadcaster for Italy's home fixtures in Rome during this seasons RBS 6 Nations Championship. The host broadcaster contract means that the company covered both the Italy VS Scotland match on Saturday 22 February and the Italy VS England match on Saturday 15 March in Rome.

IFTA Announces Nominees for the 11th Annual Irish Film & Television Awards

27 Feb 2014 | George Dixon, Channel Controller of RTÉ One, is to leave RTÉ to take up a senior position with a UK broadcaster. The post of Channel Controller, RTÉ One, will be advertised in the coming week with an appointment made as soon as possible. Glen Killane, Managing Director RTÉ Television, is to take on the role of Channel Controller of RTÉ One in the intervening period.

IFTA’s Ceremony to be hosted at the DoubleTree by Hilton Burlington Road, 5th April 2014
24 Feb 2014 | The Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) has announced that the 11th Annual Irish Film and Television Awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, 5th April 2014 at Dublin’s DoubleTree by Hilton Burlington Road, and will be broadcast live on RTÉ One at 9.35pm. Last year’s ceremony attracted a record audience of 1.24 million viewers.

TV3’s New Game Show, ‘The Lie’, Premieres on Monday 17th February
13 Feb 2014 | TV3 is less than a week away from airing its brand new game show, ‘The Lie’, a co-production between 3Studios and Scottish Television Productions (STV). The two studios developed the original idea for the show together, and the series is also unique in that for the first time, Irish viewers can play along live with ‘The Lie’ via TV3’s second screen companion app ShowPal.

10 Feb 2014 | Irish novelist Cecelia Ahern will have two of her films, ‘Between Heaven and Here’ and ‘My Whole Half Life’, aired on German TV station ZDF (Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen). The announcement was made in Munich by TV and film producer Andreas Bareiss (Heart of Fire).
