Abu Media begin filming on Western Drama Series 'Klondike'
04 Sep 2014 | Last week saw filming commence on Abú Media’s new four-part drama series KLONDIKE. The series is set against the backdrop of the Alaskan Gold Rush of the 1890’s and tells the story of the Connollys; three emigrant Irish brothers from Rosmuc, Galway, who make their way to the Klondike Valley in the hope of striking it rich.

‘Ceasefire’ TX Tonight 9pm on BBC NI
01 Sep 2014 | On the 31st August 1994, after 25 years of the Troubles, the Provisional IRA declared its ceasefire. Six weeks later Loyalist paramilitaries did likewise. These weeks marked a definitive transition into a post-conflict society. One in which political dialogue – however strained on occasions – replaced the violence.

‘Domestic Divas’ to Air Next Tuesday
29 Aug 2014 | A new six-part series called ‘Domestic Divas’ sees Aisli Madden and Cat Lawlor on a mission to help the helpless, to demonstrate basic life skills that came naturally to our parent’s generation and not so easily to those in their 20s and 30s. The first episode of the series airs on RTÉ One next Tuesday.

‘Blind Date’ Headed for TV3
28 Aug 2014 | Sony-owned indie Stellify Media is to remake ‘Blind Date’ for TV3. Radio and television presenter Lucy Kennedy will host the new show. The commission is the first order for the Northern Irish indie, which was set up earlier this year by Kieran Doherty and Matt Worthy (read more here).

TG4 unveils its Autumn Schedule
28 Aug 2014 | An entertaining and distinctive autumn offering from TG4 has been announced. It includes two new crime drama series set on Ireland’s west coast, top-class drama from Scandinavia and the US, a veritable treasure trove of original, informative and provocative documentaries across a wide span of historical, social and whimsical topics, and a major European-wide perspective on World War 1 based on the diaries of participants from all the combatant countries. There is also a fresh approach for TV traditional music, surprises for some prominent people about what made news on the day they were born, a series that reveals how we are surrounded by folk superstitions and ancient magic, young peoples’ programmes with a difference and a mouth-watering line up of exclusive Gaelic games and rugby coverage.

TV3 Launches New Home-Produced Shows as part of Autumn schedule
28 Aug 2014 | TV3 has confirmed its 2014 Autumn Schedule and 2015 programming plans in a special presentation from Dublin’s Mansion House yesterday. TV3 and 3e will deliver a wide variety of new content across a number of key genres from Entertainment and Lifestyle to Sport & Events, News & Factual, International Acquisitions and Soap and Drama. TV3 Group will invest over 50% of its programming budget on home-produced content next year. Over 2500 hours of home-produced content will be aired in 2015, and TV3 will broadcast 30 new original programmes and 8 new entertainment shows.

BAI to enter into Content Contract with Irish TV
22 Aug 2014 | The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) has announced that it will enter into negotiations for a television content provision contract, under Section 71 of the Broadcasting Act, with Teilifís Mhaigh Eo Teoranta. It is envisaged that the new service, ‘Irish TV’, will commence broadcasting in January 2015.
