TV3 and Granada London are set to produce an Irish version of ‘Come Dine With Me’ later this year. The producers are looking for culinary experts in Dublin. Waterford, Cork, Limerick and Galway to take part in the new show with the winner of each round walking away with €1,000. TV3 is currently broadcasting the UK version of the show every weekday.
Launched in January 2005 on Channel 4, the format of ‘Come Dine with Me’ has sold to over 26 territories worldwide. The show features four or five amateur chefs competing against each other hosting a dinner party for the other contestants. Each competitor then rates the host's performance with the winner winning a £1,000 cash prize.
Londis is the current sponsor of the UK version of the series ‘Come Dine With Me’ currently showing on TV3. The total Londis investment in the sponsorship and supporting campaign will be over €300K, including the creation of specially developed TV stings including specially developed TV stings. The sponsorship includes the UK Celebrity version of ‘Come Dine with Me’ and the first ever Irish version of ‘Come Dine With Me’ which will launch later in 2011.
The Irish version of the show will be produced by the same team behind the UK version. It will be directed by Andrew Mullins and Piero Sfredda both of whom will also produce alongside Amanda Starvi. TV3’s Programming Director Ben Frow commented on the upcoming new show, saying: “We are delighted to finally bring Come Dine with Me to Irish shores. It’s has proven to be a hugely successful programme all over the world and we are in no doubt that it will be a runaway success for TV3 in 2011.” It is not yet known when the Irish version of the show will shoot.
