Dakota Fanning (War of the Worlds) will star in Shyamalan’s debut feature.
Ishana Night Shyamalan, daughter of M. Night Shyamalan, is set to make her feature debut with supernatural thriller The Watched which will be set in Ireland. Previously, She has directed several episodes of her father's Apple TV+ series Servant. The Watched is based on Irish author A.M. Shine’s novel of the same name, which Ishana has adapted for the screen.
The film follows Mina (Dakota Fanning), a 28-year-old artist, as she gets stranded in an extensive, immaculate forest in western Ireland. After finding shelter, she becomes trapped alongside three strangers, stalked by mysterious creatures each night.
M. Night Shyamalan is set to produce. Nimitt Mankad (Trumbo) will produce for Blinding Edge Pictures, and Ashwin Rajan (Old) will produce for Inimitable Pictures. Jo Homewood (The Banshees of Inisherin) and Stephen Dembitzer (In the Bedroom) will executive produce. The film is a New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. production.
The Watched is due for release in June 2024.
