Following Oddity’s world premiere at SXSW 2024, which saw the film receive the Midnighter Audience Award, the Keeper Pictures production has received the Audience Award for Best Feature at Overlook Film Festival 2024.

Keeper Pictures’ Oddity has won the Audience Award for Best Feature at Overlook Film Festival, an annual film festival taking place in New Orleans each May, showcasing American and international horror films. Late Night with the Devil received the award at last year’s festival.

The film had its World Premiere at SXSW earlier this year. Oddity is written and directed by Damian McCarthy (Caveat), and produced by Katie Holly (Extra Ordinary), Evan Horan (Caveat), Mette-Marie Kongsved (I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore), and Laura Tunstall (Come To Daddy).

Oddity follows a blind medium who uncovers the truth behind her sister's death with the help of a frightening wooden mannequin. The cast includes Gwilym Lee (Bohemian Rhapsody), Carolyn Bracken (An Cailín Ciúin), Tadhg Murphy (The Northman), Caroline Menton (Altar Boys), Steve Wall (Dune: Part Two), Johnny French (The Rock in the Sea), Joe Rooney (Killinaskully), Shane Whisker (The Pope’s Exorcist), and Ivan de Wergifosse (The Last Duel).

Abigail, starring Alisha Weir (recently featured on Forbers 30 under 30) and shot in Ireland closed the festival.

Another Irish horror All You Need is Death, written and directed by Paul Duane (While You Live Shine, Very Extremely Dangerous), also screened at the festival. The film stars Simone Collins (Barber), Charlie Maher (Conversations with Friends), Olwen Fouéré (The Northman), Barry McKiernan (Vikings: Valhalla), Nigel O'Neill (Boys from County Hell), and Catherine Siggins (The Samuel Project). The film’s score come from Ian Lynch of Lankum fame.

All You Need is Death will screen at the IFI next week on Friday, April 19th, followed by a Q&A with director Paul Duane, actors Charlie Maher and Nigel O’Neill, and musician Ian Lynch of Lankum.

Abigail will also release in Irish cinemas from April 19th. The release date for Oddity is TBC.
