Irish actress Saoirse Ronan is teaming up with Oscar-nominated director Wes Anderson for his next feature ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’.
Ronan has been cast as the female lead opposite a bunch of Anderson regulars, including Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody, Edward Norton and Jason Schwartzman.
Oscar-nominees Ralph Fiennes, Jeff Goldblum and Jude Law also star in the 1920s-set film, which sees Fiennes play a concierge at a Hungarian hotel, who undergoes a number of trials and tribulations at his day job.
Shooting will take place in Germany early next year, with ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ producers Scott Rudin and Steven Rales of Indian Paintbrush, teaming up with Anderson again.
Oscar-nominee and IFTA-winner Ronan will next be seen in Andrew Niccol’s ‘The Host’, an alien feature based on the novel by ‘Twilight’ creator Stephenie Meyer, and Neil Jordan’s vampire thriller ‘Byzantium’, opposite Gemma Arterton.
The Carlow-native was recently honoured with the Maureen O’Hara Award at the Kerry Film Festival.
