Irish director Ivan Kavanagh's feature film 'Tin Can Man' has won three International Awards at this year’s Melbourne Underground Film Festival (9 -19 October).
The film which was shot on location in Dublin and Navan in March 2007, picked up ‘Best Foreign Film’, ‘Best Foreign Director’ (shared with British Director Thomas Clay for his film ‘Soi Cowboy’ which screened in competition at Cannes this year) and ‘Best Foreign Actor’ for Michael Parle.
Last month the film also picked up ‘Best Cinematography’ for DOP Colin Downey at the Strasbourg International Film Festival and last year the film won Boundary Breaking Best Feature and Best International Actor for Patrick O’Donnell at the Sydney Underground Film Festival 2007.
The black and white thriller, produced by Camera Stylo Films, stars Patrick O'Donnell (The Solution), Michael Parle (Our Wonderful Home) and Christopher Kavanagh and tells the story of Peter (O'Donnell), recently dumped by his girlfriend, who one night hears a knock on his apartment door that will change his life forever.
