Belfast, 1975 - a bomb explodes in a Protestant pub, with many casualties. High-ranking paramilitaries agree a ceasefire, which 'loose cannon' Loyalist Ginger immediately breaks, viciously burning a Catholic to death. Ginger's squad leader, Kenny, is ordered to kill him.
Single father and Catholic, Liam is stuck on the wrong side of the tracks after a riot. His children, Kathleen and Liam Jr., and their friend Michael, strike out into the Protestant side of town to look for him.
