TG4 are seeking applications from the independent production sector to produce a wide selection of non-linear content for various platforms on their social hub, BLOC TG4. The deadline is 12:00pm, Thursday March 14th 2024.
BLOC TG4 is TG4’s social hub, encompassing formats such as Instagram, TikTok, Youtube, and X (formerly Twitter). TG4 are welcoming applications from the independent production sector to produce content for BLOC TG4.
TG4 aims to produce, deliver and distribute this content over a one-year period from April 2024 to April 2025. BLOC content will need to be created for these various platforms on a regular basis: daily, weekly and monthly. BLOC TG4 is looking for content that will appeal to the 18-30 age group on social media, and that also has TG4’s mantra Súil Eile at the core of the approach.
Budget for all elements per year is €120,000.
Content
TG4 is looking for a wide range of content that covers various genres be it satire or serious.
Generation Z wants content that is entertaining, funny or dramatic. The content must be light-hearted, energetic and crazy. It should also be risqué when, and if, necessary.
This age group also enjoys more serious content. Content that highlights their own stories and content that addresses issues that concern this generation and that relates specifically to them. Content that examines the day’s political and social issues.
It is important that all content is authentic and new and that it engages this audience.
Content creators will need to be flexible and able to deliver their content quickly in order to keep up with the latest trends.
Format:
TG4 is looking for a mixture of content in this approach based on the following formats:
Instagram:
- Reels, Stories, Instagram Takeovers, Instagram Lives, Threads.
- Longer content for the Grid.
Tik Tok:
- Tik Tok and Tik Tok Live.
YouTube:
- Series, Vlogs, YouTube Live.
X:
- Content on this platform must be at the heart of the conversation.
- The content created must be up to date with the latest trends.
Other Notes:
- TG4 may request content in other formats should new elements, platforms or trends emerge that this age group are interested in.
- BLOC branding and subtitles will accompany content under this provision when necessary.
- A mixture of video content (short and longform), images, gifs etc may be submitted as part of an application.
- A mixture of MOJO recordings and crew may be used to create this content.
Goals:
- TG4 would like for BLOC content to be an audience centre-point for the country’s young Irish language community.
- TG4 is looking for content that will draw new audiences to the brand.
- TG4 is looking for content that will get people talking about us, sharing our content and interacting with us.
- As part of this proposal, TG4 would like to develop new people in front of and behind the camera.
The following should be included as part of an application:
- A complete application that presents the concept/content and the creative approach.
- Complete Budget and financial plan.
- Details of the main creative team/crew associated with this proposal.
- Recommendations in regard to the onscreen talent/participants as required.
- Recommendations for multiplatform content.
- A production plan/schedule.
- Recommendations in order to achieve the above.
An application may be submitted to provide all of the above or an application may be submitted for certain elements.
TG4 will have global lifetime rights across all platforms to this content.
