Rebecca Daly entered the Irish film world with her acclaimed short film 'Joyriders', winning both the IFTA Best Short Film and the Short Film Award at the Galway Film Fleadh, and her successive short film 'Hum' was chosen as a finalist for the Berlin Today Award in 2010. Today - she is the first Irish female Director to be selected for inclusion in the Cannes Film Festival Directors Fortnight and is enjoying the success of her debut feature film - 'The Other Side of Sleep',

Less than four weeks after scooping the IFTA for Best Animation, Irish filmmaker Kealan O'Rourke (The Boy in the Bubble) has been signed by Warner Bros to write and direct a new animated feature film - an adaptation of the upcoming graphic novel 'Bolivar'.

FESTIVALS | 'This Must Be The Place' To Open Fingal Film Festival |
The 1st Fingal Film Festival, running 21 - 23 March, opens with a screening of Paolo Sorrentino's 'This Must Be The Place'. The film, starring Sean Penn and Francis McDormand, was partially shot in the Fingal area of Dublin so it is a fitting tribute to begin the festival with the film as its gala curtain raiser. Young Irish star Eve Hewson, who features among the Irish cast of 'This Must be the Place' will be special guest at the screening.
