OBITUARIES | Ireland Bids Farewell to Screen Legend David Kelly

Veteran Irish actor David Kelly passed away on Sunday night, 12th of February 2012, after a short illness. He was 82. The actor, who was one of Ireland's best - known and best - loved character actors was laid to rest at a funeral held Thursday 16th February at Mount Jerome Crematorium. more
PRODUCTION | BBC's 'Loving Miss Hatto' Sets April Dublin Shoot Date

Award winning Irish director Aisling Walsh (Song For a Raggy Boy, Trial & Retribution) is set to film a new BBC Drama 'Loving Miss Hatto' on location in Dublin, Ireland this coming April. The €2million production will be produced by Octagon Films (The Tudors, Raw, As if I'm Not There) and Left Bank Films for the BBC with financing from Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board. more

FINANCE | €9,500 Short Film Funds at Galway Film Centre

The Galway Film Centre, in association with RTÉ, have announced they will grant two awards of €9,500 each as part of their 2012 Short Film Awards. The GFC is seeking short script applications by deadline 12 noon, March 30th.more
