ANIMATION | 22 New Animation Jobs Created at JAM Media

Minister for Arts, Heritage and Gaeltacht Jimmy Deenihan has today announced the creation of 22 new high spec jobs in the animation industry. The announcement was made at the JAM Media animation studio, the producers of 'Roy', a BAFTA nominated 13x28 live action/animation mockumentary for CBBC. more
FESTIVALS | 'The Pier' and 'Behold the Lamb' at Karlovy

Irish feature 'The Pier' is screening at Karlovy Vary IFF 2011 as part of the 'Forum of Independents', competing for the Independent Camera Award in association with Czech Television. Northern Irish feature 'Behold the Lamb' will also be screened at the festival as part of the 'Another View' section of the festival. more
PRODUCTION | 'Shadow Dancer' Begins Filming in Ireland

Cameras are rolling on Irish co-production 'Shadow Dancer' which began filming in locations around Dublin at the end of May. The production will continue shooting for seven weeks in total in locations such as Stoneybatter and Tallaght, with a week spent filming in London. more

TV3 have issued High Court Proceedings against the RTÉ Transmission Network. The commercial Irish broadcaster is seeking to regain repayment on some of the transmission fees it paid the state broadcaster over a 10 year period. more

Director Darragh Byrne was awarded the MK2 Jameson Best First Feature for 'Parked' last week at the Paris Close Up Film Festival. The feature film was selected by Irish Distillers Pernod Ricard, the Dublin International Film Festival and the Irish Film Board to represent Ireland at the Paris Close Up Film Festival. more
