PRODUCTION | 'Astérix and Obélix: God Save Britannia' Filming In Ireland

The fourth instalment in the Astérix franchise, 'Astérix and Obélix: God Save Britannia' is set to film scenes on location in Ireland this summer. The Irish Film Board confirmed today the production, with an estimated €50 million budget, is expected to land on Irish soil during August/September with an approx. 4-5 week shoot in the works. more

BROADCAST | HBO Re-commissions 'Game of Thrones'

A HBO spokesperson has confirmed that the group has re-commissioned the fantasy series, 'Game of Thrones' following audience figures of approximately 4.2.million in the US for its April 17th premiere broadcast and a peak UK and Irish figure of 823,000 on April 18th. more

Entries are now being sought for the Capital Irish Film Festival, the largest Irish film festival in the U.S., which will be held in Washington DC from the 1st to the 10th of December. Irish films are being sought in the fields of features, shorts, documentaries and animation, including those in the Irish language. more
DEADLINES | IFB Reality Bites Deadline 2011 June 10th
he Irish Film Board has announced the deadline for submissions for the next round of the Reality Bites as Friday, June 10th. The Reality Bites scheme will provide funding for up to three documentary shorts up to 12 minutes in duration, all of which will premiere at the Corona Cork Film Festival next year. more
