The winners of the 8th Annual Irish Film & Television Awards were announced at a gala ceremony held at Dublin's Convention Centre on Saturday, February 12th. Gritty feature, 'As If I Am Not There' scooped three awards on the night in the categories of Film, Director and Script for the film's debut writer/director Juanita Wilson. more

The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland has published a revised Broadcasting Code on Election Coverage. The document includes a revised moratorium on election coverage that will restrict election coverage from 2pm on the day before the election until the closing of polling stations on the day of the election. more
OBITUARIES | Irish Actor TP McKenna Dies
TP Mc Kenna
The Irish actor, TP McKenna has passed away in London following a long illness. The Cavan born actor was best known for his roles in 'Ulysses', 'Straw Dogs' and 'A Portriat of the Artist as a Young Man'. He also played with Irish theatre companies and both the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal National Theatre Company. more
SUBMISSIONS | RTÉ Seeks Travel Programming Ideas

RTÉ TV Entertainment is currently inviting submissions for summertime Event Guide/Travel programming for transmission on RTÉ TWO in 2011. The group is looking for programming of up to 52 minutes duration that will run for four to six weeks and move between different locations around the country each week. more
PRODUCTION | Sideline Break into 'Behind Bars' Production
Dublin based Sideline Productions are currently in production with a new TV documentary examining Irish prisons entitled 'Behind Bars' which is currently shooting around Ireland. The group is also in pre-production with two projects; 'Head Chef', which will start shooting on March 5, and a second series of 'Top Teens' which will shoot in May. more

BROADCAST | ABC Says 'Take the Money and Run'
It has been announced that US network, ABC will launch the American format of Wild Rover's show, 'Take the Money and Run' on April 14th. The format, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, was originally developed by Wild Rover's Philip Morrow alongside Matthew Worthy and Kieran Doherty. more
BROADCAST | Irish 'Beat Generation' Lands in Portugal
Dublin-based multi-platform producer CR Entertainment, Ltd. has announced that segments from its online series, Beat Generation Ireland are broadcasting on Portuguese TV channel TVI 24. Furthermore, Cambell Ryan entertainment is currently in talks to produce a second season in Ireland. more
AWARDS | Domhnall Gleeson Receives Shooting Star Award
Fresh from his clinching of both a rising star award and acting award from IFTA this weekend, Domhnall Gleeson has been awarded the Shooting Star Award at the Berlinale International Film Festiva. The writer, actor and director received the plaudit along with the nine other shortlisted actors at a gala awards ceremony last night in Berlin.more
