DISTRIBUTION | Channel 4 Audiences Set for 'Camelot' Knights

Channel 4 has secured the UK premiere broadcast rights to 'Camelot'. The Irish-Canadian Co-Production is set to air in 2011 on Starz in the U.S and, now, Channel 4 in the UK. The deal was brokered for Channel 4 by Acting Head of Acquisitions, Penny Harris and GK-TV President Craig Cegielski.

It has been announced that Gar O'Brien is to take on the role of programmer for the 23rd Galway Film Fleadh. The event will take place from 5 - 10 July 2011. O'Brien replaces Felim Mac Dermott who has been Fleadh programmer for the last five years.

ACTORS | Delaney & Plunkett Join Cast of 'RAW'

Production is currently underway on the third series of Dublin restaurant drama, 'RAW'. The Ecosse Film/Octagon Films co-production started shooting at the end of August and cameras will continue rolling until the end of November.

PRODUCTION | Karl Golden's 'Weekender' Wraps |
The shoot of the recent feature from Karl Golden (Pelican Blood, Belonging to Laura) is to wrap Sat 2 October. 'Weekender is shooting in London having already shot in Amsterdam and Spain for the last five weeks. The film, which will post in London, has already secured distribution deals in UK, Canada and Spain. more |

BROADCAST | Setanta Debut First Irish HD Channel |
Setanta Ireland has announced that it will become Ireland's first indigenous channel to broadcast in High Definition. The Setanta HD channel will launch by Jan 2011 and will initially be available on UPC's cable platform with a launch on satellite at a later date.

SHORTS | 'Switch' Wraps, 'Bye Bye Now' Wins |
'Switch', a new short film from Thomas Hefferon shot last weekend. The director's previous award-winning short, 'The Pool' is to screen as part of the worldwide Manhattan Short Film Festival in Dublin's Sugar Club on October 3rd. Furthermore 'Bye Bye Now' from Aideen O'Sullivan and Ross Whittaker has won awards at four festivals in the last week. more |
