Bobby Farrelly
Writer, director and producer Bobby Farrelly is the younger half of the Farrelly Brothers - the comedic team behind such hits as 'Dumb & Dumber', 'There's Something About Mary', 'Me, Myself and Irene' and 'Stuck on You'. He spoke with IFTN as part of our Masters Series about his creative partnership with his brother Peter - pushing the boundaries of comedy, "Dumbing" down the American comedic film industry, his plans to work with Sean Penn and his forthcoming first visit to Ireland. more
IRISH TALENT | Working Title Fill Gary Shore's 'Cup of Tears'

Gary Shore (The Draught) put his blood, sweat and tears into a trailer for 'Cup of Tears', a live action version of Japanese animation. The short trailer did a rapid tour through hundreds of LA inboxes and now UK company Working Title have come on board to transform Shore's trailer into a large scale feature film. PRODUCTION | Brian Kirk & Michelle Fairley Join 'Game of Thrones'

IFTA nominated Northern Irish director Brian Kirk (The Tudors, My Boy Jack) has been signed to direct two episodes in the ten part 'Game of Thrones' series. The HBO show, which goes into production this month, also sees the addition of Michelle Fairley (Best: His Mother's Son) to its impressive cast list which includes Sean Bean, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Lena Headey. more

Crossing the Line Productions is currently in pre-production with 'One Minute to Midnight', a feature length documentary that will examine the Cuban Missile Crisis from the point of view of the Cuban and Soviet groups involved. The feature will shoot in Russia, the U.S. and Cuba in October. more

A major celebration of Irish film in China will take place at the Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) today, June 16th. The event is happening as part of an extensive Irish cultural programme which is takes place at EXPO 2010 Shanghai. Irish projects including 'Once', 'Michael Collins' and 'Five Minutes of Heaven' will screen. more

SHORT FILM | Shortlist of Filmbase/RTÉ Short Film Awards Revealed
Ten projects have been shortlisted for the first round of the Filmbase/RTÉ Short Film Awards 2010. The projects were chosen from over 280 applications sent in to Filmbase in February of this year. The application deadline for the next round is Friday, June 25th.more
