'Christopher & His Kind' For Belfast, Matt Smith Stars
Shooting will commence on 'Christopher And His Kind' on Sunday, May 16th in Belfast. The 90-minute film for BBC Two will star 'Doctor Who's Matt Smith as writer Christopher Isherwood and will examine the determining years of the latter's life, based on his 1976 memoir of the same name. more
SPI Board Welcomes New Members
The new members of the Screen Producers Ireland board have been announced and include Coco Television's David Malone and Vision Independent Productions' Orla McGowan. Agtel/Independent Pictures' Liam Lavelle was also re-elected to the board. more
Siobhán Harper Ryan Talks Make-Up Special Effects

Audience Award is Icing on the 'Cup Cake'
Feature film 'Cup Cake' has been awarded the Audience Award at this year's Belfast Film Festival. The Northern Ireland Screen funded project is directed by Colin McIvor and stars Adam Best (Holby City). more

Pulse College and FAS Screen Training Ireland have launched The Engine Room Pitch, a two-day project development and pitching workshop for documentary/factual filmmakers seeking Irish and international commissions and market intelligence. The workshop and networking event is being held on May 20th and 21st for filmmakers looking to launch their work on the market place. more

Peter O'Toole Boards 'The Swan Boat'
Veteran Irish actor Peter O'Toole (Venus, Goodbye Mr. Chips) and Geraldine Chaplin (Doctor Zhivago, Chaplin) will headline 'Jennifer and the Swan Boat', a new feature film from Palancar Company Ltd which will explore the unlikely friendship between a former ballet star and a gifted albeit mute orphan. more
