Adrian McCarthy Directs 'Gilbert O'Sullivan' Doc
Adrian McCarthy's new documentary 'Gilbert O'Sullivan - Out on His Own' examines the change of fortunes that the Waterford born pop singer has experienced in his long career. IFTN caught up with the 'Crash' director to discuss the making of the documentary that is screening at the IFI Stranger than Fiction festival and will broadcast next week as part of RTE's Arts Lives. more

Dublin's Screen Scene is currently in post production with Company Pictures' 'The Silence', an atmospheric drama for BBC directed by Emmy Award winning Irish director Dearbhla Walsh (The Tudors) and starring IFTA winning actress Dervla Kirwan (Ondine) that examines the witnessing of a murder by a deaf girl. more

Arthur Lappin, film and television producer of films such as 'In America', 'My Left Foot', 'The Field' and 'Some Mother's Son', will join the list of panellists participating in a debate entitled 'The Arts and the Economy' which takes place on Thursday, April 15th and is organised by Ireland's association of writers, Irish PEN.more
Channel 4 Wants 'iCandy'
Monday, April 19th will see the broadcast of Green Inc Television's new comedy sketch show pilot for Channel 4, 'iCandy'. The pilot is written by and stars Liam Hourican (actor, The Secret of Kells) and features an all-Irish cast including 'The Clinic' star Amy Huberman, 'The Tudors' Jim Roche and 'Best: His Mother's Son' actress, Laura Donnelly. more
'The Doubleganger' Moves Shoot to Prague
Cuchulainn Productions have wrapped filming in Ireland on the set of 'The Doubleganger', a feature written by John Fox (The Supreme Court) and produced by Joe Gavin. The film was filmed in Portlaoise and Dublin and is now moving to Prague city for a two week shoot. more
CR Entertainment Secures Equity Investment
London and Dublin-based multi-platform producer CR Entertainment Ltd. has secured an investment from beActive Entertainment (a transmedia production company with operations in Europe, Canada and Latin America) and Enterprise Ireland which will allow it to increase the number of projects in development and allow UK and Irish-based talent to work on international co-productions. more
Collins, MacIntyre & Walsh for Celtic Fest
Bob Collins, Donal MacIntyre and Dearbhla Walsh are among the guests attending highlighted events at the 31st annual Celtic Media Festival which takes place in Newry from 21st-23rd April. Last held in Belfast in 2003, this is the fourth time the festival has been hosted in Northern Ireland and the first time in Newry.more

Robert Sheehan Experiences 'Acts of God'
Irish actor and IFTA nominee Robert Sheehan (Cherrybomb) is to star in a new feature from B Good Picture Company called 'Acts of God'. Robert will star alongside Ed Hogg (Bunny and the Bull) and Celia Imrie (Nanny McPhee) in the black comedy that is to start shooting this autumn. more
