'Secret of Kells' Animators Sing 'Song of the Sea'
Oscar nominated production house Cartoon Saloon, makers of the award winning 'The Secret of Kells', are currently in development with a new upcoming feature animation, 'Song of the Sea'. The film is directed by 'Kells' helmer Tomm Moore and will tell the enchanted story of the last Seal Child's journey home. more
'Primeval' Begins Production in Ireland
Production is now underway in Ireland on the new instalment of ITV's hit cult series 'Primeval'. 13 new episodes of the sci-fi drama will film on location here until early November. more
'Il Divo' Director to Film Latest Project in Ireland?
Producers of Paolo Sorrentino's latest project 'This Must be the Place' are currently scouting locations in Ireland with a view to possibly filming the project here this summer. The Indigo Film's production is rumoured to star Oscar winning actor Sean Penn (Milk). more
Garda Drama 'Corp 's Anam' For Galway Shoot
Cameras are set to roll in May on the set of a brand new Irish language drama entitled 'Corp 's Anam'. The four part Garda drama series will shoot in Galway for eight weeks and is to be directed by Darach Mac Con Iomaire in his TV drama directorial debut. more
NITV Welcomes IFB Shorts Distribution Policy Change
The Irish Film Board (IFB) this week announced changes to its policy for the distribution of short films produced under the Signatures, Short Shorts, Frameworks and Reality Bites schemes. Previously these distribution rights were maintained by the IFB for five years and a distributor, NITV, was appointed to distribute the shorts internationally, the films' producers are now invited to appoint their own sales agent. more

'Pyjama Girls' World Premiere at Stranger Than Fiction

RTÉ Diversity Announces Multicultural Deadline
RTÉ diversity has announced a deadline of Friday, April 16th for the receipt of submissions for its multicultural programming. The broadcaster has said that it is close to making decisions on filling its multiculture slots of 4 x 26 minutes. more
'Dance on the Box' Winners Announced
The Arts Council and RTÉ have announced the four films selected for the RTÉ Dance on the Box scheme. The winning films include 'Admot One'; 'Deependance'; 'Her Mother's Daughter' and 'Mo MhórChoir FÉin'. This is the third round of the RTÉ Dance on the Box scheme with awards of €22,000 for each project chosen. more
