Nominees Announced for IFTA 2010
The 2010 Irish Film and Television Award (IFTA) Nominees have been unveiled. The winners of all 37 Film and Television categories will be announced at the 7th Annual IFTA ceremony on Saturday, February 20th in Dublin. All of the categories have been shortlisted by Academy Members and Jury panels of experts from around the world. more
Irish Entertainment Tops TV3's Spring Lineup
TV3 this week launched its spring schedule. The broadcaster looks to lay a heavy emphasis on Irish entertainment programmes with the new 2010 schedule adding to over 1900 hours of Irish output over a twelve month period. more
TG4 has the 'Feirm Factor'
Good Company Productions' 'Feirm Factor' will return on Thursday, January 14th to TG4. Shooting Wraps on Domhnall Gleeson's Short 'Noreen'
'Noreen', a short film written and directed by Domhnall Gleeson (actor, Studs) and produced by El Zorrero Films, has wrapped production in Co. Offaly. The film is a family affair starring the director's father Brendan Gleeson (Into the Storm) and brother Brian Gleeson (Single Handed). more

'Seacht' Returns for Third Term
Series three of award-winning ILBF series 'Seacht' will air from Monday 11th of January at 10pm on TG4. 'Seacht' is an Irish language drama series that depicts the lives of a group of talented teens as they attend a Belfast performing arts college. more
Swedish Guldbagge Awards Shortlist 'Princessa'
'Princessa', an Irish-Swedish co-production written and directed by Teresa Fabik (Starring Maia) and co-produced by Fastnet Films' Morgan Bushe and Macdara Kelleher (the producers of the IFTA nominated feature documentary, 'Colony'), has been nominated in three categories including Best Film, Best Director and Best Screenplay at the Guldbagge Awards, Sweden's national film awards which will take place on Monday, January 25th. more
Director Karl Golden Inks Broadway Commercials Deal
Broadway Films have announced that they will be representing Irish director Karl Golden (The Honeymooners, Belonging to Laura) for commercials in the UK market. Golden, who has just completed his third feature film, is the first Irish director that Broadway Films' MD Toby Courlander has signed since he started the company at the end of 2009. more
NUIG Unveils New Bailey Allen Arts Wing
A new €6million arts wing and cultural centre was launched in the National University of Galway (NUIG) this week. The occasion was marked by performances by Druid Theatre, Macnas, David O'Leary and Frankie Gavin who introduced the new Bailey Allen Wing to a full house of University guests. more
TG4 Digs New Irish Short Film
New film 'Adhlacóirí' (Undertakers) will screen on TG4 on Wednesday, January 13th. 'Adhlacóirí' tells the story of those whose job it is to bury our loved ones and sometimes their own. more

'Hands On' Presents Deaf Factor

'Prime Time' for Richard Crowley
It has been announced that journalist and broadcaster Richard Crowley is joining RTÉ's 'Prime Time' as a presenter, starting on Thursday 14th January. He will continue to work on the RTÉ Radio news programme, 'This Week', which he has presented and edited since last June. more
