Irish Film Board Pleased with 2010 Budget Allocation
The 2009 budget for Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board (IFB) has been announced by the Department of Arts, Sport and Tourism as €19.3 million for 2010 which represents a 5% cut from the 2009 budget allocation. more

Morris & Buster Present Screen Training Ireland Course
FáS Screen Training Ireland has announced a new course it will run in association with the Galway Film Centre. The course is entitled Dialogue Writing and will run on the 17th and 18th of December in Galway. The speakers at the event will be script consultant Bobette Buster (Behind the Red Door), and comedy writer and producer Iain Morris (The Inbetweeners). more
Irish Animated Shorts Screening at 2010 Sundance
This week saw the selection of two Irish animation short films, 'Old Fangs' - directed by Adrien Merigeau and 'Please Say Something' - directed by David O'Reilly, to screen at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. more

Duff & Day Lewis Win British independent Film Honours
The British Independent Film Awards, held on Sunday, December 6th, saw Anne-Marie Duff win the prize for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Sam Taylor Wood's 'Nowhere Boy'. Daniel Day Lewis (There Will be Blood) was also honored with the Richard Harris Award.more
Setanta Sports Secure Premier League Rights
Setanta Sports have obtained the Irish rights to broadcast live coverage of 33 Barclays Premier League games for each of the next three seasons. The games will now broadcast exclusively live on Setanta Sports in the Republic of Ireland at 3pm on Saturday afternoons during the 2010, 2011 and 2012 seasons. more
