Townsend & Stevenson Join Branagh's 'Thor'
Irish actors Stuart Townsend ( About Adam) and Ray Stevenson (Rome) have reportedly joined the cast of 'Thor', the comic book adventure from Marvel Studios. The film is being directed by Northern Irish born Kenneth Branagh and will also star Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman and Samuel L Jackson. more
Television Revenue Decline at UTV
UTV Media plc has released its Interim Management Statement for the current financial year from January 1st 2009 to November 18th inclusive. The statement incorporates the Group's ten month trading period to 31 October 2009 and sees a growth in its Radio Ireland division but a sharp decline in its television revenue. more
'Your Bad Self' Begins Cork Shoot, New Cast Attached
Filming is currently underway on 'Your Bad Self', a new six-part comedy sketch show for RTÉ. The series will see the introduction of new cast members Amy Huberman (The Clinic) and Jason O'Mara (Life on Mars). more

Irish / Dutch co-production 'Nothing Personal' took home the Silver Giraldillo award at last week's Seville European Film Festival. The film, from first-time Dutch director Urszula Antoniak, was recognised by the Nicolas Roeg chaired jury and received €25,000 in prize money.more
BAI Reveals Results of Independent Political Advertising Report
The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) has announced the publication of a research report on the issue of political advertising. Entitled 'Political Advertising: The regulatory Position and the Public View' the report was written by Dr. Kevin Rafter and was funded through the BAI's Media Research Bursary Scheme. more
