INTERVIEW: Lewis & Lynch Unveil 'Harry Potter' Magic
'Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince', which hit Irish cinemas yesterday, is the sixth instalment of the Harry Potter movie franchise and is based on the second-last book of the series of novels. On the day of the film's Irish premiere, IFTN caught up with cast members, Matthew Lewis and Evanna Lynch who play Neville Longbottom and Luna Lovegood respectively in the series. more
'The Eclipse' at Windmill Lane Pictures
Tim Morris, post supervisor in Windmill Lane, recently oversaw the completion of Conor McPherson's latest film 'The Eclipse'. Shot on Red One on location in Co Cork last summer, the film is an unusual mixture of somber character drama and supernatural horror. more
'His & Hers' Amongst Winners At Fleadh
The 21st celebrations at the Galway Film Fleadh wrapped up last night with an awards ceremony held in the main town hall. The awards were handed out to the filmmakers that the Fleadh's appointed juries and audiences voted on over the course of the festival. more

Northern Ireland Screen has announced that Colin McIvor was unanimously selected as director with Katy Jackson as producer of this year's Northern Ireland Screen Initiative, with their film 'Wee Buns'. more
Zooey Deschanel Joins 'Your Highness'
Zooey Deschanel (Yes Man, 500 Days of Summer) is reportedly joining the cast of 'Your Highness', to star alongside Danny McBride, Natalie Portman and James Franco, in the Universal comedy which begins shooting in Northern Ireland later this month. more

The Telegael Group, based in An Spideal Galway, and Studio Solas, based in Connemara, have together opened a North American office in Los Angeles, California, which will be headed by veteran producer Norman Siderow (Stardust) who has worked in both Ireland and the United States. more

Post Production facilities Screen Scene has been very busy in recent weeks with festival work, commercials, films, television and updating their website. 'His and Hers' by Ken Wardop, which on Sunday picked up Best Feature Award at the Galway Film Fleadh, was post produced in-house at the Dublin facility. more

The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland on Friday published details of a report on the statutory review of the BCI Children's Advertising Code. The report, which has been laid before the Houses of the Oireachtas, details the outcomes of the statutory review undertaken during the course of 2008. more
