The awards season is hotting up with the 2005 Golden Globe nominations announced the US. Irish talent named amongst the nominees includes Liam Neeson for Best Actor in ‘Kinsey’ and Terry George’s ‘Hotel Rwanda’ for Best Picture.

Neeson is joined by Javier Bardem ('The Sea Inside'), Don Cheadle ('Hotel Rwanda'), Johnny Depp ('Finding Neverland') and Leonardo DiCaprio ('The Aviator') in the Best Actor (Drama) category.
Neeson is the critics favourite after picking up the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Best Actor award for his role as the controversial sex researcher.
‘Kinsey’ has also been nominated for Best Picture alongside Northern Ireland writer/director Terry George’s ‘Hotel Rwanda,’ also in the running is Martin Scorcese’s 'The Aviator', Mike Nichols’ 'Closer', Marc Forster’s 'Finding Neverland', and Clint Eastwood’s 'Million Dollar Baby.'
‘Hotel Rwanda’ is also in the running for Best Original Song sung by Wyclef Jean.
Irish-American actor Denis Leary has been nominated in the Best Actor in a Leading Role – Drama Series category for his role as a New York firefighter in ‘Rescue Me.’
The award ceremony will take place on Sunday, January 16, 2005.
