THE PARTICIPANTS live in a world inhabited only by children - a bleak, post-internet zone of half-remembered school rules and playground rituals. This landscape of abandonded metal trains and marshlands is now a giant board game. Here all decisions regarding conflict and punishment are made through the play of joyless, repetitive games. Overseen by the domineering tyrant Mikhail, the rules are unquestioned. Yet some plan to radically change this world – to play themselves out of the game for good.
