Psychological thriller The Surfer, directed by Irish director Lorcan Finnegan and starring Nicolas Cage, has wrapped shooting in Australia.
The latest film from Lorcan Finnegan (Vivarium, Nocebo), has wrapped in Yallingup in Western Australia. The film stars Nicolas Cage (Dream Scenario), and the screenplay was written by Thomas Martin.
The Surfer is described as follows: “When a man returns to his beach side hometown in Australia, he is humiliated in front of his teenage son by a local gang of surfers who claim strict ownership over the secluded beach of his childhood.”
The Australian/Irish co-production is produced by Finnegan’s Lovely Productions, Tea Shop Productions, Arenamedia, and Gramercy Park Media with support from Screenwest through the Western Australian Production Attraction Incentive.
Cage is joined by Julian McMahon (Nip/Tuck), Nicholas Cassim (Mr Inbetween), Miranda Tapsell (The Dry), Alexander Bertrand (Australian Gangster), Justin Rosniak (Last King of the Cross), Rahel Romahn (Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga), Finn Little (Yellowstone), and Charlotte Maggi (Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child on Fire).
