BAI Chairperson Bob Collins reaffirmed the Broadcasting Authority’s commitment to keeping pace with changes in the world of broadcasting and to maintain its role as guarantor of the sector.
‘The views from broadcasting audiences and broadcasters themselves are important in informing our work in this regard. The BAI must ensure that the fundamental interests and entitlements of the viewers and listeners are protected at all times,’ he said.
Mr Collins added that the BAI would continue to work with broadcasters to ensure that future broadcasting properly reflects the composition of society, inclusive of women and other under-represented groups.
The BAI launched its high-profile campaign in seeking public consultation in August, during a live streaming event hosted by Mr Collins and attended by Damian Loscher, Managing Director of the research company Ipsos MRB.
