About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a video editor to join one of the countries’ busiest Newsrooms. The successful candidate will be responsible for editing across a wide range of Virgin Media News productions. As a key part of the newsroom, you will work collaboratively with the Editing Team and News Producers to ensure projects are completed on time and meet all technical and quality standards. Please note this role operates in a work shift/pattern.
Specific Duties & Tasks:
- Edit on the full range of Virgin Media News and wider Virgin Media Television productions.
- Ensure all content meets technical standards and improve the quality standard of Virgin Media output
- Support Reporters and Producers in the production of high-quality video content
- Work on special projects as required
- Support the development and maintenance of efficient workflows throughout the production chain
- To undertake any other duties as requested by management
Skills & Expertise:
- Operational knowledge of AVID editing systems, AVID Interplay and networked storage
- Knowledge of AVID iNews and Media Central is beneficial
- Knowledge of television production processes
- Experience working with a range of Production teams and to edit unsupervised
- Experience working to tight deadlines and under pressure
- An interest in news and current affairs is advantageous
- Knowledge of basic troubleshooting techniques within the AVID environment
- Minimum of 1-year recent experience in television production
- Experience in a live broadcast environment beneficial
