About Premier Sports/FreeSports
Formed in 2010, Premier Sports is a sports television channel broadcasting in the UK and Ireland. The channel currently holds the rights to the Premier League (ROI only), United Rugby Championship, LaLiga, Scottish Cup, Premier Sports Cup, Elite League, GAA, NHL, NASCAR and European Football Qualifiers. In August 2017, Premier Sports launched a sister channel, FreeSports, a FTA channel available in the UK and Ireland. FreeSports shows a number of different sports including football, rugby league, ice hockey, rugby union, tennis, basketball, boxing, cricket, MMA and more.
Digital Content Creator
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Digital Content Creator to work as part of the Premier Sports and FreeSports Marketing team. The content creator will oversee the Premier Sports and FreeSports social media accounts developing engaging, creative and innovative content across all platforms to promote brand-focused messages.
The ideal candidate will also be responsible for writing, reviewing and updating content for company websites and marketing materials utilising SEO methods to increase site traffic.
The digital content creator will have a marketing or journalistic background, a passion for sports with experience in creating strong, engaging content with an understanding of SEO best practices.
Job Description:
- Writing, reviewing, editing, and updating copy for Premier Sports and FreeSports utilising SEO methods to boost the website's search engine ranking from content shown on our channels
- Take ownership of social media channels Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok to increase follower base and engagement
- Key to the position is to develop the brand awareness of Premier Sports/FreeSports to drive new audiences and customers to the channels
- Communicate directly with subscribers, viewers and followers
- Be the public face of Premier Sports/FreeSports and act as an advocate of the brand
- Preparing weekly sentiment reports on social media content and activity and growth of social media presence
- Thorough knowledge of strategic planning principles and marketing best practices
- Keeping up to date on current news on our key sports so as to relate and engage with sports fans
Candidate profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, marketing, or a similar field preferred.
- 1-2 years’ experience in social media management.
- Must have demonstrated writing experience, professional and/or academic with the ability to influence.
- Demonstrable interest & passion for sport.
- An understanding of SEO best practices and how it applies to content marketing.
- The ability to multitask, adhere to deadlines and think on your feet
- Strong editorial skills
- Excellent level of English
- Permitted to work in the EU.
