Windmill Lane VFX is looking for an experienced VFX Producer to join our team in Dublin working on a diverse range of upcoming feature & TV projects.

We are a dynamic and ambitious studio that is part of a long established creative post production company with an impressive, decades long body of work that speaks for itself across the advertising, music, film and TV sectors.

This role will suit someone with the right mix of leadership, client facing abilities, project management and resource planning skills. Candidates with 3-5 years’ experience as a VFX producer / co-ordinator will be given priority. We're also considering candidates that are upcoming and/or looking to make the transition to producer provided their experience is suitable.

This role requires excellent communication, organisational and project management skills, advanced understanding and appreciation for the creative and operational aspects of a VFX studio and the ability to foster strong relationships with our artists, production team, and supervisors. Shot grid and spreadsheet fluency is a must.

You will work closely with the Head of VFX and project supervisors bidding on projects, managing budgets (working closely with our finance team) and liaising with co-ordinators and other members of the production team on project progress. The role will also require close collaboration with other departments within Windmill Lane and when necessary, drawing on the resources and capabilities across the company.

You are accountable for securing and managing the appropriate talent to facilitate the efficient workflow to satisfy client requirements (supported by Head of VFX and Supervisors), defining clear milestones for the delivery of assets, shots, temps and finals, and supervising/training VFX coordinators. You will monitor the overall planning while ensuring that production runs smoothly.

You must be eligible to work in Ireland and while remote/hybrid is possible you must be available to work at our studio when required.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in pitch and bid for new business
  • Engage in early bidding and planning with Producers to identify talent needs, scheduling, and strategies
  • Produce and manage budgets and schedules that take into account the VFX work required, ensuring that the project is completed to the highest standard achievable, on-time & within budget
  • Responsible for the daily Production management of the team
  • Be the key point of contact for issues arising in projects
  • Manage new project set up needs and procedures
  • Create and track budgets, resource plans and schedule targets
  • Report on project budgets weekly with finance team
  • Pro-active liaison with HR and finance team on talent recruitment, freelance payroll, etc
  • Recruit and manage the VFX teams, on-site and remotely along with VFX supervisor
  • Key frontline contact to client providing bids, progress reports, approvals, and costings ensuring their creative vision and project expectations are managed and met
  • Provide verbal and wriLen progress reports to management and internal teams
  • Manage, mentor and support assigned production staff engaging in any training as agreed
  • Handle artist performance, productivity, aLendance and time keeping with the production teams
  • Manage project milestones and deliveries in accordance with the implemented schedule and budget
  • Streamline production processes and workflow an liaise with key support departments
  • Assist in dailies and project meetings
  • Outsource studios negotiations and hire

Essential Skills:

  • You must be detail orientated and highly organised
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of live-action and CG based VFX workflows
  • Proven experience in similar role
  • Experience in multi-tasking and problem solving
  • Experience with project and team management in a studio or production environment
  • Ability to remain calm and confident in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-driven, good communicator and a great team player with an ability to work within a team towards a common goal
  • Spreadsheet obsessive - GSuite in particular
  • Advanced knowledge of Shotgrid software
  • Must be fluent in English, spoken and written
  • Calm, considerate, and friendly
  • Comfortable negotiating and handling contracts, an understanding of employment and contract law/ regulations a plus
  • Familiarity with international film and VFX tax breaks, particularly Ireland’s S4ti1
  • Must have valid EU work authorisation
