TV3 require a Press Officer for a 6 month contract

Main Purpose of Job: Press Office duties for TV3 Group

Reporting to: Head of Press & Publicity

Liaison with All TV3 Group and External Stakeholders (Media & agencies)                                                           

Main Tasks of the Role:

Press & Publicity:     

• Manage daily press activities for all TV3 talent and shows.
• Compile and distribute television listings weekly for both TV3 and 3e.
• Writing press releases, liaising with third party agents and handling journalist enquiries.
• Ensure a database of excellent key media contacts, both domestic and international.
• Review daily media coverage of the company, and industry related issues, and report to the relevant stakeholders.
• Assist in organising sponsorship events and liaising with talent, celebrities and sports personalities at such events.
• Assist in managing the publicity profiles for all TV3 and 3e on-air talent.
• Negotiating and securing interviews, photo calls appearances and relationships with show sponsors.
• Assist in the co-ordination of TV3 events, including annual TV3 autumn schedule launches and specific programme launches.
• Organise photography days for TV3 talent and any shows requiring specific imagery.
• Liaise with internal creative teams to deliver content for TV3 events.
• Sourcing and managing appearances for third party celebrities and personalities to support TV3 shows and launch activities.
• Liaising with UK and Irish agents and working directly with sports personalities, actors and musicians.
• Assisting with any corporate hospitality around any sponsorship events.

Corporate PR:

• Assist the Head of Press and Publicity with any corporate communications or responses to crises and other urgent issues.
• Assist in the strategic planning throughout the year to ensure appropriate support for all programmes.
• Assist in supporting the Head of Press and Publicity with all sponsorship communications – (Examples: RWC 2015 & TV3’s UEFA Champions League coverage.)
• Work alongside other departments, specifically the Marketing Department and Social Media team to develop and execute imaginative media activities that promote TV3 Group.

The above list is not exhaustive. You will be expected to perform duties as necessitated by your changing role and the overall business objectives of the Company, as directed.

Employee Specification

Essential:

• Relevant 3rd level qualification
• Previous experience in PR and/or media management.
• Ability to work across the Microsoft Office suite
• Experience  with Photoshop desirable but not essential
• A proven track record in selling stories to broadcast and print media
• Sound judgement
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• The ability to present information in an engaging way
• The ability to be assertive and creative
• Self motivation
• Effective negotiating and influencing skills
• Adept at building and maintaining relationships with a range of different stakeholders
• A passion for Press; well organised and able to handle pressure
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
• Professional experience and persona
• Ability to work with a wide range of people including media, sales people, and talent

Desireable: 

• At least 5 years relevant experience
• Previous experience in a media organisation
