JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Social Media Producer, UTV Ireland (Based in Dublin)
Reporting to: Director of Online Channels
Responsible for: The growth of UTV Ireland’s presence across a variety of social media platforms, including the day-to-day running of the channel’s accounts and the coordination of personality driven and user-generated content on UTV Ireland’s digital platforms, in conjunction with the Social Media Manager.
Main Duties:
- To create, curate and own conversations on UTV Ireland’s social media channels, in line with agreed best practice, UTV Ireland’s brand values and social media strategy
- To monitor and report social sentiment around UTV Ireland’s brand/content
- To coordinate on-air promotion of the Channel’s social media presence and relevant content on a day-to-day basis.
- To initiate and coordinate social media activity around key UTV Ireland programming
- To source and create social content, including visual assets (images, gifs, videos) to help deliver a coherent and consistent experience for audiences
- To ensure reactive/time-sensitive content (e.g. breaking news) is published on social media platforms in an accurate and timely fashion, including any major news events occurring outside normal hours.
- To identify trends across social content and emerging social platforms in the Irish market
- To use analytical tools to measure performance and drive decision making, ensuring engaging content is shared in the most effective way.
- To moderate social media user comments and escalate issues to the Social Media Manager when required
- To encourage the curation of relevant personality driven content (e.g. blogs), user-generated and social media content to add value to UTV Ireland’s coverage, using a robust editorial approach
- To ensure relevant social/digital content is flagged to editorial teams across Online and Television teams and to support innovative forms of digital journalism and new thinking
- To provide social media advice, guidance and support to teams across the Television Division
- To assist the Social Media Manager and the Communications Department in raising UTV Ireland’s brand awareness and reputation on social media
- To ensure best practice is adhered to in regard to the administration of the Company’s social media accounts, including security and password protection
- To drive collaboration between platforms and teams, encouraging the integration of relevant social media content Online and on Television
- To ensure social media content meets legal and compliance requirements
- To keep up-to-date with relevant industry developments, emerging technologies and competitor activity
- To perform any other duties as directed by management
