The new feature film 'The Help', written and directed by Tate Taylor received its Irish Premiere at the Savoy Cinema on Monday 10th of October.
The movie, which is an adaptation of Kathryn Stockett's best selling novel, stars Emma Stone and Octavia Spencer tells the tale of an aspiring author during the civil rights movement of the 1960's who decides to write a book detailing the African American Maid's point of view on the White families they work for, and their hardships they go through on a day to day basis.
Both director Tate Taylor and star Octavia Spencer were on hand for the premiere and were joined on the red carpet by home grown celebrities including Gay Byrne and wife Kathleen Watkins and TV personality Blathnaid Ní Chofaigh.
