The inaugural IFTA Music Forum 2009: Music for the Moving Image, hosted by the Irish Film & Television Academy, took place in Dublin on 4 September. The Forum attracted directors, producers, musicians and composers - exploring the possibilities and practicalities around the business of music composition for the screen.
Guests at the Music Forum included Oscar winning composer Dario Marianelli (Atonement, The Soloist); Maggie Rodford, MD of the Air Edel Group; music supervisor/score coordinator and director of Hot House Music Becky Bentham, whose credits include Mamma Mia!, Hotel Rwanda and Neil Jordan’s latest Ondine; Irish director Kirsten Sheridan (August Rush); producer of Once, David Collins; and Irish composers Stephen McKeon (Niko & The Way to the Stars, The Tiger’s Tail) and Derek Gleeson (Kitchen).
