The ‘Ireland on Screen’ delegates attending MIPTV 2013 are preparing for this year's event at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes this 8-11 April, marking one of the most important events in the TV industry calendar.
Sixteen Irish production companies will make up the 'Ireland on Screen' delegation - a joint collaboration initiative between Enterprise Ireland, the Irish Film Board and the Irish media industry.
The ‘Ireland on Screen’ delegation will be located at stand 02.30 in Palais des Festival, with companies including:
Telegael, Screentime ShinAwiL, Tile Films, Like It Love It, Screen Scene, Sideline Productions, Windmill Lane Pictures, Video Elephant, , Grand Pictures, Fastnet Films, Blinder Films, Ripple World, Dublin Film Distributors, JAM Media, Magnet Networks, Vision Independent Productions, M3tv.ie, Independent Pictures, and Octagon Films.
Monster Distributes (Andrew Fitzpatrick) will also be in the Palais, at Stand 18.14.
The RTE International stand is located beside the Ireland on Screen stand (02.28).
Naoise Barry, Film Commissioner with the Irish Film Board, told IFTN that they would be placing a 'strategic focus' on European TV drama at this year's event.
'After the success of our recent co-production forum in Dublin called 'Big Picture Small Screen', we will be attending MIPTV with leading Irish drama producers from Octagon Films, Fastnet Films, Blinder Films, Ripple World Pictures and Grand Pictures. Our two-fold aim is to support these Irish producers in their efforts to co-produce European TV series in Ireland and to aid our producers as they seek commissions for Irish drama series from European broadcasters,' Mr Barry said.
The event will be attended by 11,000 participants, 50 keynote speakers, 4,000 buyers, 1,600 exhibitors, 1,200 production companies, 500 digital buyers and 300 journalists from around the world.
A networking reception will be held at the ‘Ireland on Screen’ location on Tuesday 9th April at 5pm.
