Christine Molloy and Joe Lawlor’s ‘Joy’, Gregg Biermann’s ‘Another Picture’, David O’Reilly’s ‘Please Say Something’ and Luca Rocchini’s ‘Where Are We Going’ have all scooped awards at this year’s Darklight Film Festival, which took place from 26th – 29th June at various location in Dublin City.
Molloy and Lawlor’s ‘Joy’, and Greg Biermann’s experimental short ‘Another Picture’ were named joint winners of Best Live Action Short at the festival. Jamie Hannigan’s short ‘The Beekeepers Son’ received a Special Mention.
David O’Reilly’s ‘Please Say Something’ won Best Short Animation, while Johnny Kelly’s ‘Procrastination’ received a Special Mention.
The Audience Award went to Luca Rocchini’s ‘Where Are We Going’, while Chris Waitt’s ‘A Complete History of My Sexual Failures’ scooped the Spirit of Darklight Award.
‘Dublin: The Movie’ the four day documentary feature made over the festival weekend, is now available to view online. The film, shot by a group of directors around Dublin city, was overseen by IFTA winning director Lenny Abrahamson, edited by Declan Lynch and produced by Andrew McAvinchy.
