RTÉ Television has unveiled the new sponsor of the next season of ‘The Late Late Show’, which will see Ryan Tubridy take over as host, will be sponsored by Quinn.
The world’s longest running chat show, now in its 47th year, which had no sponsor last year after Halifax ended their two year €1.3m deal for undisclosed reasons, will see Quinn sponsor stings which will wrap around each ‘Late Late Show’ break. The two-year sponsorship package secures Quinn’s association with the most popular entertainment show on Irish television.
According to an RTÉ spokesperson, the show’s new presenter was a big draw for Quinn: “Tubridy's radio and television personality and media anticipation over the new-look chat show were key selling points to help seal the deal.”
An average audience of 663,000 watched the series over the last season. On 32 out of the 35 Fridays the show was on air last season, it ranked as the number one programme watched by adults that day.
With presenter Ryan Tubridy taking over the job of presenting from Pat Kenny, the first show of the new season will be broadcast on Friday 4 September at 9.30pm on RTÉ One.
