Isolated in the heart of North Belfast, the scene of some 600 sectarian murders since the Troubles began, lies Ardoyne, a thriving Nationalist community in Loyalist territory. The local GAA club, the Ardoyne Kickhams, has been present in the area since 1907 and is an integral part of the community. The Kickams tells the remarkable story of the club.
Frank is the football team coach and Pat its goalkeeper. Both men have played alongside many other club members who have since been gunned down by Loyalist terrorists. The camera is present with these two men, and many others during several highlights throughout the club's calendar: The annual Dinner Dance, St.Patrick's Day, at various local matches and culminates in a trip to the All Ireland football final, the most prestigious sporting event in the country.
