The Academy will reveal the nominations for the 94th Academy Awards later today with many predicting a strong showing from Irish hopefuls at this year’s Oscars.

The current record, which is six, is jointly held by George Clooney, Alfonso Cuarón, and Walt Disney.
A nomination for Best Picture would also mark a significant milestone for Northern Irish funding body, Northern Ireland Screen, who will celebrate their first Oscar nomination in the category.
Irish Editor Úna Ní Dhongaíle is also hoping to pick up her first Oscar nomination for her work on Branagh’s film.
Ruth Negga and Jessie Buckley are also in contention for a nomination in the Best Supporting Actress category. Both Irish actresses are up for Netflix projects; Negga for her role in racial drama Passing, while Buckley is up for Maggie Gyllenhaal drama The Lost Daughter.
