Enterprise Ireland in conjunction with IBEC Audiovisual Federation will present A Masterclass with Magnús Scheving, creator of children’s TV series ‘Lazytown’, to take place on Tuesday, 27 January 2009.
Magnús Scheving is the creator, writer, producer, director of the international children’s series ‘Lazytown’ and is probably best recognized for playing the role of Sportacus in the series. ‘Lazytown’ launched on Nickelodeon in 2004, and has since sold to more than 100 countries worldwide. Translated into 15 languages it has won numerous awards as well as BAFTA & EMMY nominations.
The unique look of ‘Lazytown’ combines the worlds of CGI, puppets and actors. The stories are always entertaining, jam-packed with action, energy and a powerful message that empowers kids with the will to succeed. Encouraging children to exercise and eat healthily, ‘Lazytown’ has also become an internet ional licensing phenomenon.
Produced entirely in Iceland, the success of ‘Lazytown’ is of particular relevance to an
Irish audience. Magnús will talk about his motivat ion for creating ‘Lazytown’ and the
journey he has taken to make it the international success it is today. Following the talk,
there will be questions and answers with Magnús.
