Screen International has revealed its Stars of Tomorrow, spotlighting up-and-coming actors and filmmakers from across the globe, with Irish actor Barry Keoghan making the list.
Now in its’ 12th year, the annual showcase spotlights up-and-coming actors, writers, directors and producers who will be making waves in the years to come. Past Stars of Tomorrow selected by Screen include Benedict Cumberbatch, Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne, Carey Mulligan, Taron Egerton and Olivia Cooke, as well as Irish actors Sam Keeley and Aisling Franciosi and Northern Irish filmmaker Stephen Fingleton.
Barry Keoghan first garnered notice in Ireland playing teenage gangster Wayne in acclaimed Irish drama series ‘Love/Hate’ and he has since acted in films such as Northern Irish troubles drama ‘71’, romantic comedy ‘Standby’ and British thriller ‘Norfolk’. Upcoming roles for Keoghan include crime drama ‘Trespass Against Us’ opposite Michael Fassbender and Brendan Gleeson and Rebecca Daly’s ‘Mammal’ opposite Rachel Griffiths and Johnny Ward. He is currently filming Konstantin Bojanov’s ‘I Want to be Like You’.
Keoghan and the rest of this year’s Stars will be toasted at an event in London’s West End during the first weekend of the London Film Festival which takes place 7th-18th October 2015.<
