The first Slate project Development results for Creative Europe have been announced with eight Irish companies receiving €1.31 million for the development of Film and Television projects.
This is a strong performance for Ireland representing an 89% success rate with Ireland ranked number 4 in Europe for the number of companies supported after France, Sweden and Belgium.
The companies to be supported are:
- Samson Films
- Telegael Teoranta
- Brown Bag Films
- The Cartoon Saloon Ltd.
- Kavaleer Productions
- Crossing the Line Productions
- Fastnet Films
- Subotica Ltd.
The Slate Funding Development scheme supports established production companies in developing a slate of projects for the international market. The maximum award per company is €200,000 to assist them in developing a slate of at least 3 and a maximum of 5 projects.
The good news continues with Storytoys Ltd. receiving €110,000 for their game CLIKS under the Video Games development scheme.
With the €175,000 Single Project development results announced last month this brings the total amount of development finance awarded by Creative Europe to Irish companies to almost €1.6 million.
The Creative Europe Programme (2014-2020) is the EU support fund for the audiovisual and cultural sectors totaling €1.46 billion which replaces the previous Culture and MEDIA programmes. The MEDIA sub-programme supports the ability of the EU’s film and audiovisual industries to develop, distribute and promote their work across all platforms within Europe.
