Irish actress Michelle Fairley, best known for her IFTA winning role as Catelyn Stark on HBO’s Game of Thrones will return to TV screens this autumn as she joins the cast of ABC’s Resurrection for Season 2 this September.
According to Variety, Fairley will have a recurring role in the series as one of the returned, Margaret Langston who has been dead for over three decades and whose return has dark consequences for her family. The second season premieres in the US from September 28th. The first season’s ratings topped 14 million per week on the ABC network earlier this year.
Derry-born Fairley was recently seen on Fox’s 24: Live Another Day and the Jimmy McGovern written BBC Drama Common and will soon appear in Ron Howard’s upcoming sea epic The Heart of the Sea. Her role as Catelyn Stark over the first three seasons of Game of Thrones won the actress a legion of devoted fans as well as an IFTA Award and Screen Actors Guild nominations.
