I’ve long felt an inexplicable fascination with Ireland.”

Author Karen Moning has already expressed her wish to have it film in Ireland telling the Sunday Times ”When I first saw Dublin, I knew I was going to set a story there. I’ve long felt an inexplicable fascination with Ireland.”
The Irish Film Board say the project is still in very early stages. “We have been in very early talks with DreamWorks about the making of the Fever series of books in Ireland. The project is in very early development, but our LA office continues to track the project. Given that the stories are set in Ireland and draw heavily on Irish mythology, we hope the movies can eventually be made here,” says Naoise Barry, Film Commissioner.
Karen Marie Moning’s best selling ‘Fever’ book series was acquired for film adaptation by DreamWorks studios in late August of this year. The five book series follows a young woman who journeys to Ireland in search of her sister’s killer. While there she encounters a fantasy world filled with ancient secrets and tough-to-kill creatures. It is thought the ‘Fever’ series could become just as lucrative as the mega-successful ‘Hunger Games’, Twilight’ and ‘Harry Potter’ franchises should it come to fruition.
